Who Can I Nominate? 

• The person or organization must be primarily based within TBA’s Northern California service area OR have spent a meaningful portion of their theatre career (person) or history (organization) in TBA’s Northern California service area 

• The person or organization must have a history of creating, producing, or supporting theatre primarily within TBA’s Northern California service area 

• • “Creating” includes acting, writing, composing, directing, designing, stage management, and any other role involved in theatremaking. 

• • “Producing” includes producers and venues/venue operators. 

• • “Supporters” include audience members, fundraisers, journalists, agents, funders/grantmakers, and service organizations.

How Are Decisions Made? 

All decisions will be made by a panel of Bay Area theatremakers using the following criteria:

We’re looking for Bay Area theatremakers, theatre administrators, theatre companies, theatregoers, theatre journalists, theatre funders, and theatre supporters who have:

• Had a significant impact on Bay Area theatre OR who have significant promise for the future of Bay Area theatre, and/or
• Embodied the Bay Area theatre’s community-minded spirit, and/or
• Provided significant support for Bay Area theatre, and/or
• Uplifted diverse voices and stories in their work or artistic practice, and/or
• Forged new pathways in Bay Area theatremaking, and/or
• Inspired others through their teaching, leadership, and/or activism, and/or
• Strengthened Bay Area theatre through work that expands participation, representation, and access.

How to Become a Panelist

While anyone can nominate someone for 50@50, the decisions will be made by a peer panel. Panelists will review the nominations and help TBA create the final 50@50 cohort. 50@50 panelists must be available for the panel meeting on Monday, October 5 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. The panel will meet via Zoom. Panelist applications will be accepted from 9:00 AM on Monday, August 3 to 11:59 PM on Monday, September 14.
