What is Bay Area Theatre Week?
Bay Area Theatre Week is a multi-faceted celebration of the theatre community of the San Francisco Bay Area. From September 10 - 20, come join us for this festival of discounted and free events created by your local theatres.

When is Bay Area Theatre Week 2026?
BATW promotions begin on Thursday, September 10 and end on Sunday, September 20 2026.

What theatres are offering discounts during BATW?
That's a secret for now! Check out this page in July for a full list of participating companies and the calendar of events!

How do I get access to BATW discounts?
You can buy tickets directly from the theatre companies, no third parties here! Most discounts will be available using the code BATW2026, but be sure to check the official Bay Area Theatre Week calendar for the details specific to the shows you want to see!

Why isn't my favorite theatre participating?
Not all theatres have productions running during the festival period, so it's not possible for them to participate this time. From September 21 - 30 we'll celebrate the close of Bay Area Theatre Week with discounts to shows during the rest of the theatre season, check then to see if your favorite theatre is there!

Are there free events?
There sure are! You will be able to filter the calendar by selecting the "Free" category at the top of the page.

Can I bring my kids?
We love kids, but not every BATW event is appropriate for them. Select the "Theatre for Young Audiences" category on the calendar for shows we would recommend to the whole family.

Is this only in San Francisco?

Bay Area Theatre Week extends across the full region! You can use the region filters on the official Bay Area Theatre Week calendar to view events in the East Bay, North Bay, South Bay, or San Francisco.
