We’re fall-ing for Bay Area theatre again.

Forgive the cheesy autumn pun, we’re just hoping to catch this weekend’s shows before we turn back into a pumpkin! October brings in some spooky classics, stunning musicals, and other can’t-miss theatre experiences. If you’re like us, take advantage of the extra day off this weekend to pack in some extra performances. You won’t be sorry!

Don’t miss out!

Empty Nest and All the Rest at City Lights Theater Company

About the show

The traditional 30th anniversary gift is pearls. Clay Hausmann gave his wife a one-man comedy show about their life. She’s still waiting for her pearls. Anyone who’s a parent, or has parents, will relate to the hilarious, warm-hearted Empty Nest and All the Rest. As Lookout Santa Cruz wrote, “Empty Nest is an engaging piece of stagecraft that mines the comedic gold (and sentimental diamonds) of the universal experience of all parents — watching your child fly off into adulthood. It also helps that Hausmann is possessed of a square-jawed, dad-next-door charisma that is hard to deny.” Clay has performed his unique brand of comedy, insight and storytelling to enthusiastic audiences, and has appeared on KGO-TV, ABC Radio, and in Fast Company. He is the author of four screenplays and was a finalist for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab in 2011. And he is now officially an empty nester. City Lights is proud to present his acclaimed show on our stage!
