Show Round Up: Who Needs Fireworks?
4th of July at the theatre!
While some folks are out celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States with hot dogs and explosions, we know the best way to celebrate is with some Bay Area theatre. Why look back on been-there-done-that traditions when we can look forward to a great weekend of local art made by our community? So, whether summer outdoor theatre picnics or a cool evening in a comfy velvet seat is more your cup of tea, join us this holiday weekend at a Bay Area production.

About the show
OrSVP will open its 43rd season with a thrilling new stage adaptation of the novel that changed the mystery genre forever when it was first published 100 years ago (1926). The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is set in the tiny English village of Kings Abbot where gossip is the local currency. When the wealthiest man in town, Roger Ackroyd, is found dead shortly after his fiancé, Mrs. Ferrars’, suicide the village explodes with rumor and speculation. The local police inspector is quick to place the blame, but the village has a new resident – world famous detective Hercule Poirot – who is not satisfied with the inspectors assessment. Poirot engages his “little grey cells” and sets out to discover the truth and solve The Murder of Roger Ackroyd!
