Show Round Up: Care for Artists
What inspires you?
We’ve been so inspired by our community’s support of The Mary Mason Lemonade Fund this year. Last week, our friends at the Pear Theatre hosted an amazing Lemonade Night at their production of My Fair Lady and across cash and online donations raised over $800 for theatre workers with critical illnesses, conditions or injuries! This week we Theatre Rhinoceros is hosting their own Lemonade Night at their production of the new play Left Field by John Fisher. The Mary Mason Lemonade Fund is entirely supported by grassroots donations from artists and arts lovers, thank you to everyone who joins with us in this work. We hope to see you at the theatre this weekend!

Delson Stammer is a small time AIDS activist with a big-time chip on his shoulder. When he moves to San Francisco in 2000, he turns his rage into a bid for SF Supervisor and, to everyone’s surprise, ends up in City Hall. Now a series of miracles is sending this totally “out of left field” candidate to the White House. How will he handle the pressure? Find out in this outrageous and topical comedy from John Fisher, the playwright behind queer action-adventure epics Billy, Fallin, and Pirates!

My Fair Lady at the Pear Theatre
A bold reimagining of transformation, class, and identity—where the streets sing louder than the salons. With a pub as our stage, My Fair Lady explores the humor, heart, and harsh realities of class division—all while celebrating the indomitable spirit of those who fight for a better life.
Set in the heart of an English pub, this immersive production invites us to see Eliza Doolittle’s journey not through the eyes of high society, but from the perspective of those who scrub its floors and pour its drinks. As Professor Henry Higgins sets out to sculpt Eliza into a “proper lady,” the story deepens into a moving exploration of dignity, survival, and the cost of reinvention.
Featuring iconic songs like “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?”, “I Could Have Danced All Night”, and “Get Me to the Church on Time”, this My Fair Lady invites you to raise a glass, join the revelry, and experience the story as you’ve never seen it before.
