Show Round Up: Celebrating Local Theatre
Let’s take a minute for our local theatremakers.
It is so special to get to share the great theatre our members make with you all week after week. We have to admit, we are feeling proud of our community as we look at this week’s show line up. Especially with the Tony Award-Winning Eureka Day opening at Marin Theatre on the opening list. Theatre Bay Area has been with this show since the early days. Eureka Day was awarded 2018 Rella Lossy award to support its world premier at Aurora Theatre Company. After it closed it won the 2019 Will Glickman Award for best local premier. So it is extra special to have this show back in the Bay Area as a co-production between Marin Theatre and Aurora Theatre Company, and during Bay Area Theatre Week!
Sentimental moments aside, we are very excited for the line up of shows this week. We have another Bay Area Theatre Week participating production opening, Legends & Laughter at Killing My Lobster. Eureka Day is also one of the three shows with TBA Highlights in this week’s round up, along side Featherbaby at Spreckles Performing Arts Center, and Two Sisters and a Piano at Teatro de las Tias. So be sure to check out these great productions this weekend. Also take a look at the Bay Area Theatre Week calendar to plan ahead for the upcoming 10 day festival of free and discounted theatre!
