In this episode of Theatre Process, we're delighted to give you two playwrights in conversation about their craft: Anne Washburn, writer of Mr. Burns, a post-electric play, which premiered at American Conservatory Theater just a few hours after this podcast was recorded; and Jonathan Spector, artistic director of Just Theater, who has produced and directed Ms. Washburn's work but joins her today as the writer of Global Age Project-winning play FTW. Recorded on the Ashby Stage on a bustling afternoon, you'll be treated to some native sound in the form of fire trucks and background conversation. But the real treat is the candor of these two artists, who discuss, among other things, why writing is awful.

Mr. Burns, a post-electric play runs at American Conservatory Theater through March 15, 2015.
