Theatre Bay Area mourns the death of our friend, Nancy Livingston, who passed away on November 16, 2019. Together with our members – theatre companies and theatre makers throughout the Bay Area - TBA offers our deepest condolences to her husband, Fred Levin, and to their family.
TBA was honored to celebrate Nancy in 2016 at our 40@40 40th Anniversary, as one of the most influential leaders in our field over the past forty years.
We are grateful to have known Nancy, who inspired us with her unflagging energy, her personal courage and above all, her love for the arts. In Nancy’s own words,
“”Art is transformative; it is where we can dialogue, where we can all sit in the dark and come together in a way that is magical. And it never happens in exactly the same way twice . . .what takes us to those extraordinary moments is when art starts a conversation among those experiencing it together. And I think we need more, not less, of those kinds of moments, those kinds of experiences.”
