Join Bay Area theatre luminary and Business of Show Business columnist Velina Brown as she leads participants through a 90 minute session of articulating what is important to you in your life and career, using this important criteria as a framework to develop personalized goals as well as finding ways to identify the steps that you can take to get there. Participate in this “dream big” workshop and emerge with the beginnings of steps to move to another level.

Join Bay Area theatre luminary and Business of Show Business columnist Velina Brown as she leads participants through a 90 minute session of articulating what is important to you in your life and career, using this important criteria as a framework to develop personalized goals as well as finding ways to identify the steps that you can take to get there. Participate in this “dream big” workshop and emerge with the beginnings of steps to move to another level. This session is being held for participants in the 2018 round of ATLAS for actors, but is available to artists of any discipline on a drop-in registration basis.

Velina Brown

 Actor/Singer/Director, is a co artistic director/principal performer for the San Francisco Mime Troupe. She’s played the Devil in Deal With the Devil, Veronique in Veronique of the Mounties, she's played Condoleeza Rice three times, and was both an actor and contributing lyricist on GodFellas and Making a Killing. Velina's recent shows with the Troupe include Walls: No Human is Illegal (TBA best new musical nominee),  Schooled( TBA best ensemble nominee), Ripple Effect, For The Greater Good: Or the Last Election, Red State, Too Big to Fail, and Posibilidad: Or Death of the Worker for which she won a Bay Area Critics Circle Award for Best Principal Actress. This Spring 2017 Velina toured France with the Word for Word production of Pulitzer Prize winner Edward P. Jones’ All Aunt Hagar’s Children. In October 2017 Velina and Brooklyn based ensemble Barbez had the release party at Joe’s Pub for their new album For Those Who Came After: Songs of the Resistance from the Spanish Civil War. Velina’s other credits include theaters all over the Bay Area, film such as Playing it Cool with Chris Evans, Milk with Sean Penn and television including Trauma, Party of Five, Shaughnessy Iron Marshall, Nash Bridges and Final Witness. Velina is one of TBA’s "35 Faces," artists who've made significant contributions to the Bay Area theater community and in 2017 was honored with the Getting Played: Equity in the Entertainment Industry Award at Stanford University.
