TMaX: FAQs
What materials can I post?
You can post the availability of any material or equipment, in reusable condition, that could arguably be used in a production theater setting. For example, production set pieces, seats, lighting, sound systems, costumes, and props can be posted to TMaX. Additionally, TMaX also accepts postings for office equipment, computer equipment, fabric, paint, mannequins, some furniture, and certain other items.
TMaX does not accept postings for materials unrelated to production theater, nor postings for materials in poor repair. TMaX will not post general-purpose furniture or broken/obsolete computer equipment.
Do I have to be a theater to post or respond to available materials?
No. Any organization or individual may post or respond about reusable theater-related materials or equipment.
What area does TMaX serve?
TMaX accepts postings from throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Interested organizations and individuals from other areas are invited to respond to available items.
How do I get an item?
Pickup or delivery is negotiated directly between the donor and recipient.
Can I seek used theater materials on TMaX?
Yes. Your search for stock or common theater items may be conducted on TMaX. Items such as flats, staircases, platforms, drops or commonly-available props may be posted.
How can I seek materials and equipment specific to my production?

Must I supply a photograph with my posting?
No. However, while a photograph is not required to post materials, it is highly recommended in order to expedite the process.
Can I use TMaX to seek an item I want to rent or borrow?
No. TMaX is a waste management project, targeted at keeping unwanted used materials out of the landfill. Renting or borrowing used materials that would not otherwise be destined for the landfill do not qualify for this project.

Can I sell my item, or do I have to donate it?
TMaX is a waste management project, targeted at keeping unwanted used materials out of the landfill. Most items posted to TMaX, should be donated (prior to going to the landfill!). Exceptional used theater materials at very low cost ("garage sale" type) price will be considered for posting on a case-by-case basis.
