Landisman Sample Projects

You should have a specific project, program or interest in mind for the fellowship.

Examples are given below.

1) You are designing the set for a small production at a local theater company. Although you are being paid, the design fee does not cover your living and travel expenses for this period.
This fellowship would augment your design fee to allow you to devote more of your time to this project.

2) You have always wanted to learn more about hat making in the costume shop, but were never skilled enough in the field to be hired as the shop’s milliner.
This fellowship would be your payment for services as you worked in the costume shop and developed your skills towards being able to be hired as the milliner in the future.

3) You would like to work alongside an established theatrical designer as his assistant for 6 months. He normally has little or no money to pay for such an assistant.
This fellowship would serve as your salary for the period of this mentorship.

4) You would like to take an internship at a theater company for a year. The existing internship payment would not cover your living expenses.
This fellowship would help you to pay your daily expenses for the period of the internship.

5) You would like to attend a 4-day intensive training seminar on stage rigging, but cannot afford the seminar or its related expenses.
This fellowship would help pay for the seminar tuition. If the seminar is out of town, the fellowship would help pay for your travel and housing.
