Free Night of Theater 2010!

Free Night of Theater Registration is Now Open! This year, we're celebrating theatre across the state of California by partnering with other cities in the state for a coordinated month-long effort. But for our local Bay Area companies, the process of signing up is the same as last year, with all the great perks associated with Free Night!

Why sign up for Free Night?
1) GET YOUR COMPANY’S NAME OUT THERE
Jump on board with FNOT 2010 and you’re signing on for $250,000 in exposure. Involving over 100 companies, Free Night 2009 included over 300 performances and 7,000 donated tickets, all of which were given away…this year we hope to make Free Night an even bigger success!

2) ATTRACT FRESH FACES
Surveys show that 75% of local FNOT attendees have never been to their Free Night venue before.

3) REACH A YOUNGER AUDIENCE WITH MONEY
FNOT patrons are younger on average than the standard theater audience, but most have higher-than-average household incomes.

4) EXPAND YOUR PATRON BASE
33% of all the FNOT patrons come back as paying patrons within 6 months.

Here’s how you sign up:

1) Go to www.theatrebayarea.org (hey you're there!)

2) Select “Member Login” at the top of the right-hand column. Sign in using your company I.D. info. If you don’t know your membership login information, please email members@theatrebayarea.org. (Note: if you don’t use your company login, you won’t be able to see the Free Night registration options.)

3) Select “Free Night of Theater Registration” from the Members menu on the left.

4) Provide the information as prompted (we’ve streamlined this process to make it as easy as possible for you this year!)

Important to keep in mind about this year’s Free Night:
Free Night 2010 will be celebrated for the entire month of October -- performances are eligible for Free Night if they occur between October 1 and October 31, 2010. We will be distributing tickets via an early pre-giveaway to certain corporations, and then with an in-person giveaway September 29 and online giveaways September 29 and October 13.

When deciding upon your free night allotment please remember that this year we are asking that companies donate a total of 25% of the house or the equivalent to the unsubscribed portion of the house of one performance over the course of the Free Night promotion.

Keep in mind that it’s a good idea to spread your total ticket allotment over the course of several performances as you will be giving Free Night patrons more than one opportunity to see your show.

Please donate at least 10 tickets per performance if possible.

Please donate even numbers of tickets.

Important dates to remember:

August 19th: Sign up by this date if you’d like your company to be included on the Theatre Bay Area Free Night postcard.

September 1st: Sign up by this date if you’d like to participate in FNOT 2010!

September 29th: First giveaway date.

October 13th: Second giveaway date.
