The 2015 TBA Awards Celebration was held on November 16, 2015 at American Conservatory Theater's historic Geary Theater. At the event, hundreds of the Bay Area's best and brightest came together to applaud friends and colleagues and enjoyed the warm camaraderie for which the Bay Area theatre community is justly famous.

The 2015 TBA Awards Ceremony was hosted by legendary Bay Area actor Ron Campbell (Don Quixote at Marin Shakespeare Company, One Man, Two Guvnors at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Peter and the Starcatcher at TheatreWorks, Comedy of Errors at California Shakespeare Theater) and the complete list of presenters included Russell Blackwood, Catherine Castellanos, Brian Copeland, Donald Currie, Charles Dean, Bill English, Brad Erickson, Cole Ferraiuolo, Conrad Frank, Margo Hall, Leslie Ivy, Randall King, Leslie Martinson, Leontyne Mbele-Mbong, Johnny Moreno, Mina Morita, Amy Mueller, Ava Roy and Torange Yeghiazarian.

The second-annual event included a musical parody written by Allison Page, the artistic director of Killing My Lobster, that kicked-off the ceremony. The three companies that received the 2014 Outstanding Production of a Musical Award performed live musical numbers at the 2015 Awards Ceremony. These performances included “When You’re an Addams” from The Addams Family by San Jose Stage Company, “Dance at the Gym (Mambo)” from West Side Story by Broadway by the Bay and “Suddenly Seymour” from Little Shop of Horrors by Altarena Playhouse. Amy Lizardo and Teresa Attridge performed a special musical tribute honoring the late Mark Rucker, Associate Artistic Director of A.C.T.

Each year the Theatre Bay Area Legacy Awards committee selects one artist, one philanthropist and one organization to receive a TBA Legacy Award. TBA Legacy Awards honor extraordinary contributions to the Bay Area theatre community, and reflect the recipient’s body of work over time or a significant milestone in their professional journey. 2015’s Legacy Awards recipients were late A.C.T. Associate Artistic Director Mark Rucker (Artist); consultant, philanthropist and executive director of Handful Players Judith Cohen (Philanthropist); and the public charter school Oakland School for the Arts (Organization).
