Welcome to another episode of "Theatre Process." We have a very special treat for you--an interview with Kathleen Turner, who is in town to perform the one-woman tour de force that is Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Even better—the person conducting the interview is the dynamic Stacy Ross! Listen in to hear these smart, strong women of the stage talk about the physical and emotional realities of performing an entire play alone, the courage it takes to act the story of someone else's life (especially with their family in the house) and the special kind of joy that only audiences can bring. Oh, and why you should listen to this musician right now.
Listen to the podcast here.
Red-Hot Patriot runs at Berkeley Rep through January 4, 2015.
Trevor Allen, Theatre Process producer and host, is an award-winning playwright (The Creature, Lolita Roadtrip, Tenders in the Fog, Chain Reactions, 49 Miles) solo performer (Working for the Mouse), voiceover artist (representation) and author. Exit Press is currently publishing a collection of five of his plays.
