In 1976, the local grassroots organization that would become Theatre Bay Area published its first newsletter. A real, live copy of that first newsletter is on display in the TBA offices—as a reminder of what the present owes to the past, and proof of what a group of dedicated people can accomplish working together.
In 2016, Theatre Bay Area is proud to look back on 40 years of service to theatre-makers, and 40 years of rich history as Bay Area theatre has grown to make its mark on the nation. On June 20, the Faces of Theatre Bay Area 40@40 Celebration will gather Bay Area theatre legends and supporters to commemorate how far we’ve come—and blaze a trail toward the future—together.
