Here we go! Producers, what are your questions?
Hey, y'all! A friend of mine, the inimitable Stuart Bousel, hinted recently that it'd be pretty darn cool for producers - and would-be producers - to have some kind of discussion forum about the many trials and tribulations that work can involve. I promised I'd start one, so here we are.

My first question to you: what kinds of things do current or future producers want to know from each other?

Sorry, that last post was a glitch.

Firing people sucks. Sometimes it's easiest to go back to the contract, ask them how they think they've fulfilled the job so far. If they can't prove how they've been doing the work successfully, let them know that you need to find somebody else to take over on the project.

I've found that sometimes just lighting a fire under somebody by letting them know their work isn't acceptable is enough to transform them into a much more motivated member of the team.

I'd be curious to know how/where are Bay Area Producers spending their precious advertising dollars?
