Who do folks recommend for singing lessons in SF?
I'm looking to get my voice back into shape after not having trained for a long time. I'm not a soprano or an opera singer, and I'm not interested in someone who's just going to try to make my range go higher. I'm just a plain-ol' alto who likes show tunes and jazz standards, wanting to work on breath control, phrasing and expression. I don't even remember if those are the right terms, haha -- it's been a while! Somewhere in or near the Mission would be preferable, and reasonable rates are a must. Any recommendations? Thanks, y'all!

The best place to look is National Associations of Teachers of Singing www.sfbacnats.org. As a voice teacher and opera singer I can tell you, you can rest assured that no one is trying to convert you.
