Applications for both the 2016 Theatre Bay Area General Auditions and the 2016 ATLAS Actors spring session will be available starting October 30th, 2015.
We will be accepting applications for both programs through December 7th, 2015.
For more than two decades, the Theatre Bay Area General Auditions have provided an opportunity for newcomers and veteran actors alike to showcase their talent for scores of local directors, casting directors, and representatives of theatres seeking to cast their shows.
All TBA Individual Members in good standing are eligible to apply to be seen at the General Auditions. Spaces are limited, so selection is by lottery.
The 2016 Theatre Bay Area General Auditions will be held in San Francisco on Jan. 30 - Feb. 1, 2016.
ATLAS (Advanced Training Leading Artists to Success) gives actors, directors, and playwrights invaluable tools to develop their career plans and offers a limited number of grants for implementation of these plans.
Since the program's inception in 2008, ATLAS has trained hundreds of theatre-makers in crucial career skills such as time management, goal setting and financial matters. In 2013, the program offered its first round of training to playwrights, complementing existing programming for actors and directors. Each round typically contains 20-40 artists.
The ATLAS program is designed to meet the needs of theatre artists wishing to go from "Point A" to "Point B" in their careers—wherever their "Point A" might be. In other words, this is intended for all artists: emerging and mid-career, as well as established artists looking for something new in their careers.
Note: Actors participating in the spring session of ATLAS for Actors are guaranteed a spot in that year's General Auditions, plus feedback on their auditions.
