This dark political comedy, part of the Des Voix Festival, centers on Karim, an Arab living in the banlieues surrounding Paris (neighborhood housing projects similar to inner-city subsidized housing in the U.S.), and his ferocious clash with a middle-aged couple from a wealthy neighborhood. Soon after their doorknob breaks, the couple’s bourgeois apartment slowly transforms into a theater, where a battle, both ideological and territorial, ensues.Tickets and info: (415) 626-2176; desvoixfestival.com
