Meredith McDonough Decamps for Louisville by / Laura Brueckner

The good folks at Actors Theatre of Louisville certainly recognize talent when they see it. Meredith McDonough, who has served as TheatreWorks’ director of new works since mid-2009, has recently accepted an offer to take up the mantle of associate artistic director at ATL. This makes her the second prominent Bay Area director to be swept off recently by the Kentucky company, whose Humana Festival of New American Plays is one of the foremost festivals of new plays in the nation. She will assume her new position in the late summer, joining ATL’s new artistic director, Les Waters, formerly associate artistic director of Berkeley Rep.
