We like to have a little bit of fun over here at Theatre Bay Area (we don’t mind a LOT of fun either...but that’s another story!). And we’re always interested in which shows our members are catching, and what you think about the shows. So we’ve decided to up the ante and turn our usual Monday morning Facebook survey “Which shows did you see over the weekend” into a Twitter contest with prizes.
Here’s how:
- See lots of local theatre over the weekend! (This part is important)
- Get on Twitter on Monday any time between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and tweet your response to any show you saw over the previous weekend!
- Use the #tbaplay hashtag to make sure we see your tweet! And you’re done! (Please don’t use this hashtag to do show promo; we’re here to play!)
Your response can be anything: a summary of the plot, thoughts on casting, diversity, script, design, or, well, anything! It does need to be a show you saw that week or weekend; super-clever tweets about that Phantom of the Opera you saw when you were 10 will be thoroughly enjoyed, but not eligible for the contest.
Each week, Theatre Bay Area staff will review all #tbaplay tweets that fall during that Monday window (6 a.m. to 6. p.m.) and pick one winner! That winner will see her or his tweet published in the next day’s weekly Update. Fame! Glory! Bragging rights!
And it gets even better: as often as serendipity permits, we will offer actual prizes for the winning tweet! These may include: comps to shows, free entry into the Theatre Bay Area Conference or other events, free Theatre Bay Area membership for one year (individual membership only) and more!
The contest will begin next Monday – so sharpen those mental pencils and get ready!
