Join Theatre Bay Area on December 3 as the theatre community comes together for two important events:
Event 1: Theatre Bay Area Diversity Symposium - Free
The Bay Area is one of the most diverse regions in the country, and yet a casual observer may not recognize that in the work we do or in the people that make up our local theatre landscape. Women are the majority of the population, but opportunities in the field (administratively and creatively) seem to be disproportionately small. Some theatremakers seem to address the ideals of diversity easily, while others struggle to even know where to begin to address it for themselves.
At this free half-day event, members of the community will come together to grapple with what the current ecosystem looks like, what it means for our field and what we can do about it.
