FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAN FRANCISCO—Patrons of the arts can soon go online to order advance half-price tickets to theatre, dance and music events throughout the Bay Area. TIX by Mail, the half-price ticket catalog published by Theatre Bay Area, is going electronic starting August 5. Patrons can find TIX by Mail online at www.theatrebayarea.org.

The fall TIX by Mail catalog premiers August 5, featuring performances by American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco Symphony, the Oakland Ballet and Berkeley Repertory Theatre among some 70 shows listed. Until now the catalog was available only by subscription, and buyers had to mail in their orders. Now it’s available to all and tickets can be ordered using the new online form. Tickets are then mailed to the patron.

“Tix by Mail has proven one of Theatre Bay Area’s most popular programs,” according to Cara Chrisman, ticketing services director. “We’ve completed a recent upgrade to our Web site to make it possible to access the TIX by Mail catalog. This new fall catalog is one of the best yet. Half-price tickets are limited, so buyers should order soon before they sell out.”

TIX by Mail is posted five times a year: January, March, May, August and October. To receive notification by e-mail when the newest publication of TIX by Mail is posted to the Web site, patrons can send their contact information to tix@theatrebayarea.org.

TIX by Mail is a program of Theatre Bay Area, the nonprofit service organization that serves the Bay Area’s theatre and dance community and its enthusiasts. For more information about Theatre Bay Area and other programs visit the Web site at www.theatrebayarea.org.
