Advertise with Theatre Bay Area and get results!

The Theatregoer is a patron-focused weekly e-newsletter centered on the half-price tickets available online and at the TIX Booth in Union Square. The Theatergoer is sent to over 25,000 unique addresses every week, and has a consistent open rate of 30-40%. Of those that open the email, almost 30% of them click through every week.

E-Mail Banners

For the Theatregoer, we offer a variety of banner ad sizes at both member and nonmember rates.
Buyers are charged per insertion.

  • Reservation deadline: The Theatergoer is sent out every Wednesday. E-mail banners must be booked at least a week in advance (i.e. the prior Wednesday), but may also be booked further in advance. Advertisement space is limited and is first-come, first-served.

  • We prefer that advertisers purchase ads using credit cards, but will also invoice if you prefer. To download the entire advertising packet, including display information, web advertising, e-mail advertising, and advertising agreement, please click here.


Dedicated E-Mail Blasts  

Theatre Bay Area can send up to one dedicated e-mail blast each week. Dedicated e-blasts offer a great, high-profile platform for your organization to get in front of up to 28,000 sets of eyes!

  • Dedicated e-blasts are $750 to reach our Theatregoer list (25,000 patrons). Special 2-email offer: reach both the Theatregoer and Weekly Update lists for just $1,000 per blast!

  • Dedicated e-blasts are sent on Wednesdays; we are only able to send one dedicated e-blast per week out of respect for our subscribers.

  • E-blasts are meant to showcase your product and your brand identity—Theatre Bay Area will include a logoed banner at the top of the blast to let our subscribers know it's from us, but we invite you to contribute images, text, links etc. to make the rest of the e-blast your own.

  • Our e-blasts generally get open rates of upwards of 35%, and have consistently generated click-throughs for our customers. To see some sample e-blasts, please click here, here and here.
