Deadlines


Magazine:
To have your audition, job or playwrights' opportunity listing included in the Theatre Bay Area magazine, you must submit your listing no later than 10 a.m. on the first business day of the month prior to the magazine's publication month.* For example, these are the 2013 magazine deadlines:

January/February issue: December 3, 2012, 10 a.m.
March/April issue: February 1, 2013, 10 a.m.
May/June issue: April 1, 2013, 10 a.m.
July/August issue: June 3, 2013 10 a.m.
September/October issue: August 1, 2013 10 a.m.
November/December issue: October 1, 2013 10 a.m.

*Please note that we no longer publish playbill listings in the Theatre Bay Area magazine,
but we do still publish them online on an ongoing basis.

Website:
Audition, job and show listings are posted to the website on an ongoing basis. For show listings, the deadline is 1 month before the show’s start date. For audition and job listings, please give at least one week’s notice before you want the listing to appear.

How Much Do Listings Cost?
Listings for shows and playwrights’ opportunities are free to the public. Audition and job listings are free for companies that are members of Theatre Bay Area, but cost $20/listing/month for companies that are not members and $10/listing/month for individual and organizational members. Individual or organizational members cannot use their membership on behalf of a nonmember company.

To pay for a listing, include a phone number which we can call to collect your credit card information or send a check to: Attn: Listings Editor, 1663 Mission St., #525, San Francisco, CA 94103. Listings are not posted until payment has been received.

How Do I Submit My Listing?
Email your listing to listings@theatrebayarea.org in the format provided below. There is no online form for submitting listings. Listings are not published as submitted; they are edited per the Theatre Bay Area style guide and at the editor’s discretion. Please include your membership status or payment information with your listing.

Show listings must be sent one month before the show start date and put in the format below. Show listings not meeting these requirements will not be posted.

If you sell tickets through TIX Bay Area, please still send the magazine staff your show information.

Show listings on the site are viewable by anyone. You may search for your show listings by clicking “See What’s Playing” in the orange banner across the home page.

Please note that we no longer include show listings in the Theatre Bay Area magazine. We do, however, publish them online on an ongoing basis.

Audition Listings
The magazine runs audition listings for the current month and the following month. (The January/February issue has auditions in January and February.)

Include: company; show; author(s); director; number of male and female roles along with age range of each; audition req's; union status; pay/no pay; audition date(s), times and location; callback date; rehearsal and performance dates; appointment/info phone number or email and/or address to send headshots. If your listing does not have a specific audition date, please let us know how long you want the listing to run.

Include: Job; company; details (duties, requirements, pay/no pay, contact info, etc.); expiration date.

Photo Requirements
We do not publish photos for listings. We do sometimes use photos for other features of the magazine. Digital photos must be 300 dpi jpegs or tiffs sized at least 4x6 inches, color or black and white. In your submission, include the names of the people in the photo, the show, the company and the photographer.
