The conference plenary, breakout sessions and other events will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Berkeley Repertory Theatre’s Roda Theatre, the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre and venues along Berkeley’s Shattuck corridor. The conference will run from 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with a reception following immediately afterward.
The Theatre Bay Area Annual Conference is one of the most important—and exciting!—theatre events of the year, and this year’s conference promises not to disappoint. As we celebrate 40 years of serving the Bay Area theatre community, we’re excited to bring you a fabulous lineup of locally and nationally recognized speakers, including Greg Reiner, the new director of theatre and musical theatre at the National Endowment for the Arts, and Diane Rodriguez, Theatre Communications Group board president; associate artistic director at Center Theatre Group; an actor, director and playwright; and a new member of the National Council on the Arts, appointed by President Obama.
Each Annual Conference is designed to help attendees connect with fellow theatre professionals, learn about big ideas and best practices in the field and celebrate the successes of the Bay Area theatre scene. It’s the place to network with other theatre-makers from across the region and gather the necessary tools to take your organization or individual artistic career to the next level. What to expect at this year’s conference
Informative breakout sessions, inspiring keynotes, the annual “State of the Arts” address, career coaching, the Playwright Cabaret, an all-day Resource Expo, the presentation of the Will Glickman Award for best new play to playwright Lauren Yee and San Francisco Playhouse—as well as a convivial evening reception.
